Young Adults 16-25 years

St John Ambulance Cymru Young Adults are 16–25 year olds who want to push themselves further. You’ll develop advanced first aid and leadership skills, take on real responsibility, and have opportunities that make a real difference to your life – and to others.

What you can expect

You’ll develop practical skills that stay with you for life. You’ll gain confidence in first aid and put that training into practice at events across Wales. Many Young Adults also step into leadership roles, helping to guide younger Cadets and support local units. These opportunities are designed to build your communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills – all of which are highly valued by employers, colleges, and universities.

Making connections

It’s not all work. Volunteering with St John is also about making connections, building friendships, and becoming part of a supportive community. You don’t need any previous experience to join, just an interest in learning and a commitment to helping others. Our trained adult volunteers will guide and support you, making sure you feel confident and safe as you grow into the role.
