About us

What we do

Our vision is for Wales to be a community of lifesavers.

Every year, our volunteers and staff deliver essential first aid treatment, training, and transport services supporting people in need and helping to reduce pressure on the NHS and emergency services.

From fundraising and first aid workshops in the community to training the next generation of lifesavers, we’re proud to be at the heart of communities across Wales.

A course trainer wearing green and black uniform is demonstrating CPR on a training manikin. He is performing chest compressions, kneeling by the manikin and putting the heel of one hand in the centre of the manikin's chest. He has placed his other hand on top of the first and interlocked his fingers.

Training courses for the workplace

We deliver first aid, mental health first aid, and health & safety courses to individuals and organisations across Wales. Whether you’re looking to become a qualified first aider in the workplace, build confidence in a medical emergency or improve safety standards in your organisation, we have a course to meet your needs.

Event support and ambulance services

Our skilled St John People provide professional first aid cover at events across Wales, from small community gatherings to major festivals and sporting fixtures. With a fleet that includes ambulances, response vehicles and community support units, we’re ready to help keep people safe.

Falls response service

We dispatch trained Falls Assistants, upon receiving a 999 call, to provide fast and compassionate assistance to people who have fallen, helping them back on their feet with care and dignity.

Volunteering

For more than 100 years, volunteers have been at the heart of St John Ambulance Cymru. From young cadets learning first aid to experienced healthcare professionals offering their expertise, our people make an incredible difference every day.

Our work in the community

We’re building a community of lifesavers. From running programmes for children and young people to delivering training in schools and workplaces, we’re empowering the next generation with the skills and confidence to step forward in an emergency.
