About the course

Injuries such as sprains, fractures, cuts and grazes are a common occurrence in sporting activity. That’s why we created this sports first aid course, which covers essential first aid skills and effective treatment techniques for common sports injuries. Whether you’re an athlete, coach, trainer, or sports enthusiast, this training is perfect for anyone involved in…

Our St John Ambulance Cymru sports first aid training course will take one day to complete. It is more in-depth than courses taught by other providers. This will enable you to have a thorough understand of sports first aid and how to treat a sports related injury that you might come across.

You will be very well-prepared to deal with a sports injury and offer basic life support after this sports first aid training. However, this certification will not allow you to be a certified first aider. You should book a place on our First Aid at Work if you want to be a first aider. Alternatively you may be interested in our Emergency First Aid at Work course.

Our Sports First Aid course is ideal for anyone involved in a sporting environment or sports club, including football, rugby, and many other activities. A lot of injuries that occur from playing sports are similar in nature and this course will teach you how to provide effective first aid care tailored to athletic settings. You’ll also learn what essentials go into a football or rugby first aid kit.

We offer the Sports First Aid course at our training centres across Wales. If there are six or more of you that need the training, then we can also come to you. For more information, ring 0300 201 1999 or email training@sjacymru.org.uk
