In addition to the 1-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course, we also offer a 2-day, 12-hour training course. The 2-day paediatric first aid course must be completed by at least one member of staff in a nursery or professional childminding environment. This is a requirement by law. You will also need to take the 2-day course if you are the sole person responsible for children such as a childminder. The 1-day course is ideal for staff to gain the skills and confidence to provide emergency first aid to infants, as as many people as possible should know how to respond in an emergency.
In Wales the regulator for childcare is Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). Education and training in Wales is inspected by Estyn. These are the equivalent to Ofsted, which covers England.
