Our First Aid at Work Requalification course is only available to those who have successfully completed the 3-day First Aid at Work qualification within the last three years. According to the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, first aiders must hold a valid and in-date certificate. If your certificate has expired, you can no longer act as a first aider in your workplace. Certificates are valid for three years.

If an accident occurs in the workplace, first aid skills can make the difference between life and death. If it has been three years since you completed your First Aid at Work course, it is important that you refresh your knowledge and prevent skills fade, so that you know what to do in an emergency. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that first aiders complete annual skills update training in the years between qualification. We offer a First Aid at Work Update course which is a first aid refresher for this reason.

Yes, the requalification course content is regularly updated to incorporate any changes or updates in regulations prescribed by the first aid industry body. This ensures that participants are well-informed about the latest guidelines, especially in the context of handling an emergency first aid situation.

No, there is not. Once your First Aid at Work qualification expires, you will no longer be a qualified first aider for your workplace. If this happens, then you will need to take our 3-day First Aid at Work course to become a certified first aider again.

This course ensures alignment with the latest health and safety regulations, including the current first aid regulation and HSE first aid standards. By providing updated information on best practices and incorporating any relevant changes in protocols, the course ensures that participants maintain valid first aid certification.
