Cadets 11-16 years

St John Ambulance Cymru Cadets are young people aged 11–16 who want to do more with their free time. As a Cadet, you’ll gain valuable life skills, have fun with new friends, and make a real difference in your community.

About the Cadets

There’s so much more to being a Cadet than learning First aid.

The programme includes lots of fun activities, subjects and projects that will help you to build your leadership, communication and training skills.

You’ll learn more about your local communities, interact with our adult volunteers and build your confidence. You’ll also make lots of friends and can take part in our Young Leader courses.

Why become a Cadet?

Being a Cadet is about more than just first aid. It’s about:

  • Standing out on CVs, college, and university applications
  • Discovering your potential
  • Trying new experiences
  • Making a positive impact

What experience is required?

You don’t need any experience to join. Our adult volunteers will guide and support our cadets, making sure they feel confident and safe at every step. Training is designed to be fun and practical.
